B Corp is a voluntary third-party certification that measures higher standards of environmental and social impact, financial accountability and transparency developed by the non-profit organization B Lab. There are almost 3,000 Certified B Corps in 65 countries. The legal entity Benefit Corporation is recognized in 35 states and Washington, DC.
In order for a company to achieve B Corp certification, it must meet the performance requirement through the B Impact Assessment and meet the legal requirement based on the state of incorporation.
