B Corp is a voluntary third-party certification that measures higher standards of environmental and social impact, financial accountability and transparency developed by the non-profit organization B Lab. There are almost 3,000 Certified B Corps in 65 countries. The legal entity Benefit Corporation is recognized in 35 states and Washington, DC.
In order for a company to achieve B Corp certification, it must meet the performance requirement through the B Impact Assessment and meet the legal requirement based on the state of incorporation.
By becoming B Corp Certified your business can attract top talent, differentiate itself from competitors, generate publicity and be a part of a movement that uses the power of business as a force for good. We can help your company achieve B Corp certification and continually improve performance year to year.
“Crossbow was integral to our B Corp certification. With your help, we were able to balance running our business day-to-day, while elevating our presence with our customers. Working through the more difficult questions allowed us to be positively introspective about the kind of company we want. Awareness of B Corporations, and the choice to build better, more thoughtful businesses has been slow but steady. While this ethos has been with us from the start, we able to encapsulate those choices in our branding and alignment with B Lab.” — Meaghan & Shane Carpenter, HEX Ferments
"Last year I made the decision to take the assessment so that my company could attain B Corp status. After completing the assessment myself and not understanding how to answer some of the questions - I received a low score. In 2016 I worked with Mark of Crossbow Strategies who was very instrumental in helping me to understand the B Corp assessment, took the time to find ways for my company to score higher, and provided a number of suggestions for practices to implement into my business that would model a B Corp company. With Mark's help, my company score in the 90s. I am so grateful for the phone conversations, meet-ups and advice he provided to me. Mark is a valuable resource for the B Corp community." -- Melissa Jones, EventSprig
